I did when I started. Now the depression bit has finally gone.

However - not diagnosed as clinical depression or on meds (though I probably should have at one point)

I had post-natal depression and took me forever to even realise it.

When i started weight-losing it was hard. And it still is - I occasionally still find myself reaching for food if I am feeling down. I'm just glad that I don't feel down like that very often anymore.

Totally. I have depression, anxiety, and some self issues and depression wins out every time. I know eating better and exercising will make me feel better, but sometimes (most of the time) I just can't do it.

I totally understand the medication and weight gain issue. That's how I became grossly overweight when I was 16. I have stayed overweight and I'm 34 now. I have lost 34 pounds since January but it's be quit the struggle.
