What should I have - calories not on menu

I'm going to Bill's restaurant for lunch tomorrow. They don't include calories on their menu or website so I'm not sure what to eat - does anyone have any advice. I know there are often hidden calories and what might seem the best option isn't always...

I don't know what kind of place it is, but you can't go wrong having a salad with dressing on the side. Throw some grilled chicken on there as well.

When I eat at an unfamiliar restaurant I look for items that are grilled without sauces (chicken, fish are good choices). Choose a side of veggies and a salad without the added condiments (loads of cheeses, bacon, etc). Make sensible choices such as these and you will have no worries.

Avoid fried food and anything with sauce/dressing. Look for menu items with whole proteins (chicken, steak, salmon, etc.) and get simple sides such as steamed veggies, rice, etc.

And don't stress about it. Eat the best-looking thing you can find on the menu - a lot of places have the menu online even if there's no calorie count - or ask if things can be prepared more simply without sauces, dressing on the side, etc., if necessary.

Then use a similar MFP database entry & your eyeball-estimated portion size to log it. Don't pick the lowest calorie similar MFP database entry - pick one of the ones on the higher side. Just log it, and go on with life.

I did that all the way through weight loss, probably a couple of times a week, sometimes more, and it didn't cause any difficulties at all.
