Weightloss Help or Advice

I started MyFitnessPal a month ago. I have lost 3 lbs so far. I know that is still good, but would like to see loss a bit faster. I workout 3-4 times a week, and all 4 times I do 30 minutes of cardio and 3 times a week, I lift weights for about 30 minutes. This morning I weighed myself hoping I would see a bit more results, as I gained 1 lb! I have measured myself too and my waist line is down 4 inches, which is good. I guess I am stuck still on the weight I currently hold. I thought I would lose weight each week since I have been in my calorie range each week. The only thing I can think of is that I do consume more calories at night during the day, as my habit is eating more at night. Do you think that is the issue I can't seem to get past this weight? I guess I am just frustrated not seeing much results on the scale. Any advice would be great!

    you could eat less, work out more, weigh your food, the lb is likely water, 3lbs in a month is a good pace. that pretty much sums up all replies

    Don't forget to measure yourself. You could be gaining muscle weight. Also, if you're wanting to be buff, you do small reps of heavy weights. If you want to gain lean muscle, you do a few reps with less weight. Like....if I wanted to be buff, I'd probably do 3 reps of 5 using like...100 lb weights. But if I'm wanting lean muscle, I'd do 3 reps of 10-15 using 30-50 lb weights. At least, this is what my personal trainer has told me.

    The distinction you're talking about -- between being "buff" and having "lean muscle" -- doesn't make much sense to me. Are you saying that someone who is "buff" has a different type of muscle? Muscle is muscle.
