Hello all,

I am a first time poster here in the community but a long time on and off again MFP user. The years have been long with many peaks and valleys that lead to the "on and off again" usage. However, this time it's different and I Would like to publicly declare why that is not only for myself but for others who currently reside in a valley.

First a little about me, my name is Levi, I was born premature and because of that I have cerebral Palsy. My mother was told that I wouldn't live through the night and that if i did that i would never walk, talk, dress myself, live on my own, ect. It took longer than most but I was able to accomplish it all and more, as a kid I was very active always doing one thing or another as I aged it started to take its toll on my body before I knew it I was sitting around all the time. I became depressed which caused me to be even less active and to become pretty anti-social, doctor after doctor told me to be ready to be confined to a wheelchair. In the beginning I had excepted this to be my only option, I was taking multiple prescriptions everyday.

One day last December I had my aha moment when i realized to truly fix my issues and live the life that I want to live long term and not just in short spurts that I had to start from the inside! From that day forward I began picking my brain apart, learning what made me tick and how I could use that to my advantage, I spent months becoming self aware and figuring out how I could fix my physical problems before jumping on the wagon this time, it turns out that they are mostly caused by long term muscular imbalance due to the cerebral palsy and using the left side of my body almost 100% of the time.

This time it's different because I Studied myself from the inside out instead of focusing on what I saw in the mirror first. I never understood that what i saw in the mirror was a direct refection of what was going on within myself.

In my opinion many people struggle to create lasting change because they are so affixed on fixing what they see in the mirror that they forget that many of the problems originate from within. (myself included)

key points
  1. Work from the inside out to create a lasting change.
  2. Balance is not something that we are born with, it's created with time and experience.
  3. Without eustress you will regress.
  4. You create your reality.
  5. Most importantly, you can do it!

If you have read this whole post I thank you, it turned into a bit of a ramble. I hope it helped you in some way, it was also written to create eustress for myself and stimulate personal growth as I am usually very shy and reserved.

Always remember, you can do it!
