Open Diary, looking for advice...

Well, I've been stuck the last couple weeks just a pound away from my first mini-goal. I've looked over my diary to see how I can change things to start seeing results and this is what I think and I'm just looking for some more input:
1) I've been under cals a few days lately, trying to eat more
2) I try to manage my carbs but should I maybe try to incorporate more whole grains or am I at a good number? I'm DEFINITELY sensitive to carbs. One regular chip snack will up me by two pounds for sure, hence the veggie chip addiction.
3) I don't have a lot of variety in my food because I find that staples tend to keep me on track. Should I really mix things up?
4) I've just decided to start taking some Calcium Magnesium and Vitamin B6, thinking that could be a little boost and as I'm low on calcium most days.
Any additional thoughts from anyone? I also workout 5-6 days a week for 30-60 minutes, strength and cardio. I drink a ton of water as well.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and thanks in advance

My suggestion, after browsing through your diary, is to try to get as close to your calorie goal as possible but cut way back on sodium for a few days... possibly even for a week. My body reacts the best when I can keep my sodium level around half of the daily recommended amount. Good luck!0

I looked at the last 4 days or so and this is what I noticed, very high sodium intake. Try to avoid prepackaged and prepared meals they tend to be way to high in sodium.0

I have found i don't reach the stuck points because I keep my body guessing. If you find that you're reaching your plateau try mixing up your exercies... ie if you do alot of walking and nothing else add a little bit of jogging, if you dance all the time add yoga since these all tend to use different muscles your body will continue to loose.
Also eating, if you're eating the same stuff every day again your body will get use to what you're eating, trying mixing it up to work on the digestion a little more... If you eat all low fat stuff try one meal with a little extra fat in it etc.
If you're under the 1200 calorie goal everyday you could be putting your body into starvation mode, try adding a little extra to that perhaps milk, orange juice something healthy but just enough to keep you a little above 1200 calories.
Reminder I'm no expert but it's things I've found to help me along the way.0 -
I noticed that it looks like you skip meals. I would try to avoid that, you don't want to slow your metabolism.0

i agree with everyone else. Primary culprits may be sodium and being too predictable in your food choices.
Sodium is known for holding onto water. Ugh Water Weight! But 1-2 days a week of overpassing your daily amount isn't going to kill your goals. But 4-5 days might. So maybe be more conscious of that and see if it makes a difference.
And definitely change up some of your eating habits. It makes a big difference with my workouts when I dont stick too close to a specific style or schedule. I'm sure our bodies react the same way with food. Be creative. Challenge yourself to find new go to snacks or breakfast foods.0 -
HI! I :: would suggest to watch the sodium.Up the fiber and carbs some too.
Good luck

Maybe look after you fat, and don't go over your limit more then once a week.
The thing with the sodium is not in my scope, because I only use half of the sodium I'm allowed to, and not loosing any weight.
And if you like to try, you can switch a few days of the week your breakfast. Maybe oatmeals with fruits and milk or yogurt.0 -
You need more fruits and veggies, much more fiber, and less sodium. Try eating smaller meals throughout the day, including snacks of fresh fruit.0
