Target Heart Rate Question

I'm curious to know how you figure out what your target heart rate should be. My HRM isn't very fancy... no calorie convertor, just a HRM. My aim to use this is to figure out what an aerobic HR feels like when exercising. So... I'm trying to figure out my THR but there is so much information out there - I found one site that says 1 thing and then another site says something else. Anyone have a reliable site to figure this out?
Thanks so much!!

Are you woking out at home or at a gym? If you are at a gym talk to a personal trainer. They can access you and set your HRM. The basic standard is 220-your age. That is your is your maximum heart rate. Your aerobic threashold (the point where you start to burn sugar) is lower than you Max HR. You mostly want to stay at or under your AT because this is where you burn fat. Basic rule of thumb is once you begin to sweat, you have entered your fat burning zone and once you can't say more than one or two words at a time you are over your fat burning zone and burning just sugar. Try to stay in your fat burning zone. But really go get a test from a personal trainer.
