as you do your weigh-ins your calorie needs will change, usually for every 10 lbs lost. it does for me. MFP will ask you if it should re-assess your calorie and exercise needs, say yes, and presto, new goals.0

I have lost almost 30lbs and it hasn't changed yet... I was messing with it and didn't change even after 50lbs lost. I have no clue lol0

Every 10 lbs decrease from your starting weight your calories go down (you're prompted to make the change) barring any other changes ie manually resetting goals partway through a 10lb loss, or changing your "daily activity" from sedentary to lightly active to one of the others0

If you are alrready on 1200 cals per day it will not readjust your cals as this is the lowest mfp recommends0

oh jeeze thank you for posting this!! I lost 12 pounds and i didnt realize i should be adjusting my goals lol0

Yeah it changed for me. I think I started at like 1900 cals a day and since I've lost 40 pounds (only 85 to go!) I'm down to 1620.0

I have been on here for almost 3 months and I have not changed my calories. I did change my protein to carb radio in the beginning.0

It really depends on your BMI and how much you have to lose. For those who have a lot to lose, it will change over time. For those that are already close to a healthy weight, it will not change as much as often. It's the difference between being obese and just being overweight.0

MFP will do it for you.0 -
MFP will not necessarily do it for you. It did once for me. Since then when I lose another 10 pounds I have to go and ask MFP to reset my goals. I think it is because I changed my goal from 1 to 1.5 pounds a week at some point so it no longer prompts me. If you are losing more than 10-20 pounds you may need to have MFP readjust your calories goal based on your current as opposed to starting weight. Do this every 10 pound lost. However the person said that if you are already at only 1200 calories daily goal it won't is right nor should you set it lower.0

Mine changed 3 times. i started at 1400 cals and now im down to 1200...as you lose weight it will get lower. but it wont get any lower than 1200 cals. when you get to your goal weight (maintain) your cals will go back up0
