Ibs D

I'm really struggling with food lately, I'm too scared to eat because I don't want to flare up my Ibsd I've been to the doctors and she suggested I start a food diary, and put me on new medication.
Does anyone have any advice that they can give me? ❤️

IBS-D also. And I continue to struggle with the food all day. Best advice? Research the disease. Look into FODMAP apps that will help you identify trigger foods (and some days you will be wrong and get sick)

Log everything as accurately as possible, so that when you have a flare-up you can see what you ate. There are also apps that track the frequency/state of bowel movements (if you want to see how bad you flared up with one food vs another)

Don't be afraid to try new things to expand what you can eat. Learn to cook a few go-to meals (one of mine is grilled salmon with friendly spices and white rice; then I combine it all with a bit of soy sauce)

Make a list of what food you know DON'T trigger your IBS. This way when you flare up badly; you have a list of go-to tummy friendly foods.

It's always going to be a struggle. I have decided just this week to take control of the food to the best of my ability for my illness and once that is a bit more steady; add in movement to reduce the anxiety that also triggers my IBS.

    Hope that is slightly helpful.
