I love fruit, especially as a light late night snack! But my boyfriend is consistently telling me that there is too much sugar in fruit and if I want to lose weight that I shouldn't have it... what do you guys think?

Try to pick a lower carb fruit like berries. As long as you have the numbers in your goals go for it. It is not bad for you, but like anything, too much of a good thing can put on weight. I have Berries, Cantalope, Watermelon or Grapes and Popcorn every night before bed.

definitely limit your intake of fruit. your boyfriend is right, it's full of sugar and is not an unlimited food if you're serious about losing weight. 1 or 2 servings of fruit a day is enough if you feel you must have fruit every day and try to pick low sugar fruits. so not watermelon lol that's just sugar and water. Berries are best. A tablespoon or two of pineapple every day will help your digestion too.

I can't see someone going overboard on fruit. Yeah it has sugar in it but not the same kind as say a candy bar. I say go for it!!!! I love fruit!

It's exactly the same kind of sugar as a candy bar. It just comes in a healthier, fat free packaging but it's still sugar.

i'm on the 17 day diet and it's primarily lean protein/low carb, but he allows two servings of fruit a day. the catch is that you have to eat them before 2pm, due to the way the sugars break down. try eating it earlier in the day, and like others have said, don't go crazy. i could eat fruit all day long, but it IS filled with sugar. although they're natural "healthy" sugars, it's still sugar.
