Flabby arms!

I have lost 14 lbs. since 8/1/2016. I was 284 lbs. and now I'm 269.4 lbs. My highest weight was 302 lbs. 2 years ago. Once I lift my arms the wings flap so while at work I wear a quarter length tuxedo sweater year round. But in the summer I'm off and let my arms out but try not to lift them when I'm out in public. I'll ask my daughter or husband to reach for things for me that would cause me to lift my arms.
Question: Are any other women going through this issue and what do you do to survive? Secondly, is surgery my only way out, does anyone have a story to share, I need answers or miracle stories?

You are doing great so far! You do have a long road ahead of you and your body is sure to change dramatically. Your arms will shrink, though how much is impossible to tell at this point. I would not worry about surgery right now, though if it makes you feel better you could start saving toward it. Hopefully you will not need it and instead can use the money for something fun :)

i lost 40 lbs a few years ago, unfortunately I put back about 16 of those pounds which I am trying to get back and I definitely have the arm wings. I was really self conscious about them for a long time and I still try to do weight exercises to tone them but at the end of the day we both have much more to be proud of which is what you should focus on now you have lost over 30 lbs which is awesome, so for now see if you can add some arm exercises to tighten the arms but most of all look at that lose skin as a place where fat used to live which is gone now so be proud!!!!
  • Thank you so much for the inspiration!!!

Battle scars that happen throughout this process ;) The dreaded arm wings and all sorts of stretch marks in places you didn't know there would be stretch marks. I apply lotion to my arms and stomach every other day, I have no idea if it helps with sagging skin but it helps my skin recover from stretch marks. I figure the skin will shrink on it's own or I'll have to get it removed once I'm at my goal weight.

There are some exercises called triceps dips you can do that are supposed to help. Seriously, congrats for the weight loss and keep going!
