I am back after a few years...

Hello,

I am a 37 years old woman with more than a hundred pounds to lose.

A couple of years ago I became a member of MyFitnessPal and I lost a good amount of weight (about 45 pounds if I'm not mistaken). I had a couple of friends on here but they all went their separate ways.
I remember I was so happy to filter out all the clothes that was too big from my closet!

Then, life happened. It was a pretty rough time, with unsuccessful IVF among other things. My new life regime of exercising each day was forgotten because of all the stress, sadness, "busy-ness"...

Also, I developed arthrisis in my foot, which prevented me from walking normally, let alone run.

I gained it all back. And more. Again. (I say again because I have been playing that yoyo game all my life.)

I recently put my name up for gastric sleeve surgery. I can take several years before I get a call (waiting list in Canada...), so it's a long shot.

Meanwhile, I'm afraid for my health a lot. I'm borderline diabetic (and I fear my next test will confirm that I am now fully diabetic), and I have pain in my knees, hips, feet. I want to lose weight again, to be healthier. But I feel like I can't do it. I feel like it's going to be a failure, again.

I need help. Could you help me keep hope, be motivated please?

Thank you,

Marie-Eve

Marie-Eve, Welcome back! I too am re committing myself to My Fitness Pal for weight loss. I'm 36, lost my mother to Alzheimer's disease 6 years ago, yet am still having moments of depression and loss. My career was going great, and then I was laid off twice in 2 years!! I'm at a point where I need to focus on myself. I have a new job with no stress, an amazing & supportive husband- that I just need to DO IT!
Here's a quote I found that can kick start it:"Great things are not done by impulse, but by a series of small things brought together.” ~Vincent Van Gogh"

    Hi!

Welcome back and congrats on recommitting! Friend me if you would like! I just rejoined myself and found that I do need to refocus my energy on keeping up with my goals and would love to support others as well. I recently found out I was prediabetic and have spent the past year working on making sure that it goes in the right direction. I am here for ya!

    Hi Marie-Eve.
First of all, welcome back :)

Don't be ashamed of 'restarting again'. It can take many attempts until it clicks in to place and you know what? That's okay. Life happens - things happen in life that causes our weight to fluctuate up and down all over the place and that's okay too. We are human beings with feelings and emotions and we react to those how we see fit at the time. I was in fantastic shape last year because I was constantly working out and keeping track on my food. Sadly, I let every thing else in my life other than weight loss fall apart around me. This year, I experienced several horrible traumas and I gained quite a big percentage of my weight lost back again. So here I am ready to lose it again. I know how to do it and YOU know how to do it. That's all that matters.

Know this - you CAN do it. That voice in your head telling you that you can't? Pay it no mind, it has no place in your life. Picture how you want to live your life and how your want your health to be - let THAT image be your motivation. We'll help you.

Hi, welcome back! I completely understand the yo-yo frustration. Worse than just the yo-yo effect: Each year the range gets higher and higher. I've been doing it since the birth of my first child 22 years ago. I'm now 45 and while I was a "toothpick" all through my youth I am now realizing that I have been overweight almost half of my life. I now need to lose 72 lbs to be at my goal weight. Friend me if you like. I would love to work together, motivate each other, share tips, successes and yes even failures. Hopefully we can make it stick this time!

Hi welcome back! I am welcoming myself back today as well. I discovered that pretty much all my mfp friends have all either left, not logged in in months or deleted me. I also belong to TOPS ( take off pounds sensibly) lost 27 pounds but after surgery gained ten back. Well Time to come back. Logging works. I wish you great success on your weightloss journey! Believe in yourself. You have the power within :) friend me if you would like to support eachother.
