for dinner tonight i made my family a salad. i put in: lettuce, spinach, two hard boiled eggs, some carrots, broccoli, bbq chicken, cucumber, and a little shredded cheese on top. my question is, what is the best/easiest/quickest way to be able to track that, (my portion)? or really any meal that you make for your family. should i have kept it all seperate measured each ingredient for my portion and then thrown the rest together for the family? my first thought is it doesn't matter because it's healthy but i know salads can get up there in calories.

What I do is usually use the recipe button, add all the ingredients and then put in how many it serves.

I use the recipe builder. It works great because you can put in how many portions and it will give you the data for the whole recipe as well as per portion. All you do in enter each ingredient then save it. I love it because it saves all your recipes and it makes it quick and easy to put into your diary. Especially if it's something you know your gonna make over and over again.

I would put your own recipe in, and it allows you to put how many servings. So if you made the salad for 4 you can put that it....and since you are saving the recipe the next time you make it you can just select it from the tabs under food.

I love the feature. Its so helpful!!!!

Go to the food tab, under recipes you can enter all the ingredients and estimate how many servings, and it will calculate how much one serving is. You can also save it, so if you make it again you can just under recipes and enter a serving into your diary.

Have you tried the "recipe" section of the Food part? I usually make logical guesses when I am not sure of exactly portions.

Definetly check out putting in your own recipes. It is awesome. I do a lot of social functions and It is right at my fingertips for the next one to put in my food diary.

I agree.... the recipe "builder" is the bomb! I use it for all those family recipes.
