Read labels carefully - don't do what I did!

Hubby made ravioli last night and when I read the package I thought it said that a serving size was 2.5 raviolis. I was like, that's it? It didn't seem wrong though because I've seen whackier portions on labels. I ate three ravioli with sauce. Naturally I was still hungry and I was complaining about said hunger to my hubby and how I can't believe you only get 2.5 raviolis per serving, at which point he corrected me and said that I read it wrong. The bag had 2.5 servings. I cheated myself out of food. I could have had FIVE raviolis! So I went back to the kitchen and pulled out one of the ravioli's with sauce from the lunch my husband packed for himself today and ate it, cold, standing up, at the kitchen sink.

I would go run for an hour before I would ever cheat myself of food I wanted to eat.

labels are not good sources of calorie counting data. you need a food scale and whenever possible record everything solid in grams.

This - with a scale maybe you would have been able to even eat more ravioli! That's always exciting.

Neither of those would help with OP misreading the serving size listed on the label.

OP, glad you went back for your ravioli.

God...hate to think what you would have done if you found out you had misread the package and accidentally over eaten.

This happened to me tonight. I heated up a frozen enchilada dinner. There are two enchiladas, so I assumed the 160cals the box said was for both. No. It was PER enchilada. Duh. Can't just look at the calories.

That's like those tricksy PopTarts, pretending there are 2 serves in a box...
