The Star Wars: The Force Awakens Fitness Challenge, here on MyFitnessPal, will start on Monday, September 26th! The challenge will run for 8 weeks. Weekly challenges will be themed around the storyline of the film. You can join the group here http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/115979-star-wars-the-force-awakens-fitness-challenge .

Essentially this will be a group challenge here on MFP for fans to compete against each other while improving their fitness and geeking out. You do not need to be a Star Wars fan to compete in the challenge. Are you new to MyFitnessPal? Joining groups on here in general (doesn't need to be this one) is a wonderful way to connect with new people and start building a support system

Some General Challenge Info

Each week participants can earn a maximum of 5 points each. Each week there will be a cardio minute goal, strength minute goal, stretch minute goal, food/diet related task, as well as a physical task or challenge. Team scores will be based on the team average. In the event of a tie, standings will be determined by a previously planned tiebreaker metric.

Teams generally will be filled on a first come first served basis. Consideration will be given to team preferences, but overall application responses, especially your activity level could influence the team you are assigned to. Please try to keep an open mind when you receive your team assignments  Participants will have the option to opt out for the week without affecting their team scores as long as they opt out before Wednesday of the current challenge week.

The Force aka our audit team, will be open to casual participants who do not have the time or interest to participate fully in weekly tasks, but would like to still take advantage of the team atmosphere. Members of The Force group are able to participate in as many/few challenges as they would like without having to worry about being accountable to a particular team. Your contributions will also have the potential to influence scoring or assignments for the other teams during certain weeks.
