its a motivational tool, if you eat similar numbers for the next few weeks youll be that weight, but in a few days it will be either higher, lower or equal depending on what u have been doing :) it give you hope seeing that in such a short time you can be that much lighter :)

Its because MFP builds in you calorie deficit ... if you have it set at 1 lb a week you have a 500 Cal a day deficit .. so even though you went over by 200 Cal you still have a 300 Cal deficit for the day. Hope this helps :)

The site calculates that for instance on your first day. If you continued along for 2 weeks just as you did the day of your entry you could be five pounds lighter. Keep in mind that it also takes into consideration your starting weight. I'm on a 1200 calorie diet as well, when I should be on a 1500 calorie diet. That is why you are allowed to lose weight, not much, but some. Also look at how much weight you would lose on a regular basis if you did not but sat around all day. I think its averages like 1500 calories per day. Also, if you added any exercise to your day, it will add those calories burned back to your allowable calories. Although I wouldn't advise using them.
