Hi there -

I had vertical sleeve surgery about a month ago and am in a bit of a rut with my current foods. Anyone post-VSG and interested in looking at my diary and letting me take a look at yours? Knowledge and comments appreciated.

Are you talking about the gastric sleeve? I'm doing that around the 1st of December. You don't appear to be obese in your picture.

@JenniferNoll I have a BMI over 30 (30.2 today, in fact), so I qualified for the surgery. =)

My insurance won't pay unless you have a BMI of over 40, or 35 with certain comorbities. I have sleep apnea and fatty liver syndrome, which is enough for my insurance company. You look amazing, so I can't wait to see you post-surgery.

@JenniferNoll - I had to do the six month wait period and meet with the nutritionist monthly. I've lost 72 pounds in the last year; 16 since the surgery on 8/11. Thank you for the compliment; I am working really hard to get to a reasonable weight for my frame. Be patient and persistent with the insurance people. You are going do great. Let's encourage each other, ok?

I've been approved already, had the psych eval, and am having my first weight management meeting next week. I'll be having my surgery in November or December. I need to lose about 90 pounds to reach my goal weight. Can you send me a friend request?
