I use to be, even went a couple of years back. It was fun going to the expo.
Amazon is streaming it for free if anyone is interested: https://www.amazon.com/gp/adlp/mrolympia?

Though I like bodybuilding, they are the lowest paid pros in the line of work as "athletes". Heath won $400k for 1st place. That barely pays enough for his gear and food based on all the time he spends in the gym. Gotta admit though, it's a dedication sport.

Yep, not much prize money but I think they get most of their money through sponsors. Got to win the big events to draw the attention. Didn't realize the Jay was so rich though.

Having it air on CBS next year will drive viewership and may help drive the prize money up. I think the fact that there are older competitors may also help hook viewers given what we are watching socially with fitness. I'm probably being overly optimistic, but I'd love to see an explosion in popularity0 -
CBS is willing to pay the IFBB and Olympia sponsors a ton of money for a "sport" that only draws maybe a million fans? Weird.
They used to show in on ESPN in the 80's, but of course back then the competitors weren't so freaking looking and aesthetics were the measure of winning. Frank Zane was always my favorite along with Bob Paris and though he never made the Olympia Rory Leidelmeyer.
