I need someone to break my implanted thoughts of little Idaho. I cant help but see it as old time gun slingers, neighbors that are miles and miles away, women with bonnet's and wide dresses and little boys in ties for Sunday school.

I might be moving with my parents. And this new lifestyle as i have always seen it portrayed in movies.....totally freaks me out. So can anyone from Idaho reassure me so that when that day comes if i must go, i wont have to sit in my tears. We also may be trippin over there in a few days or maybe a week. Not sure...so i would like some warning since i am from the beautiful Cali and this would no doubt be a heart attack culture shock.

Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I do!

I can assure it's not like that at all. :) I have lived here for 11 years, moved from Washington and am originally a Cali girl myself. Depending on where you're moving to, the biggest thing that I noticed here is 'some' people seem a little 'reserved' and it is very religious. (LDS) Most of my good friends I've made here are implants as well...Huh, that's weird. :)

I live in Boise..well the area of Boise. It's very scenic and beautiful, great place if you like outdoor living, hiking, camping, skiing etc. I love taking walks and the trails here are really nice. I'm not a camper myself. *shrug* but there are other things to do here. Plays, bars, theater, concerts...

Anyway, if you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to give you more insight.

I'm a little south of Boise/Meridian (but not as far south as Kuna!) I moved here after spending most of my life in California (Stockton, East Bay, & Sonoma County). I can also assure you it is not at all "Little House on the Prairie". Boise is a thriving, dynamic mid-size city of great regional importance. There is shopping, and folks with blue hair (and I don't mean the octogenarians), piercings, and tattoos, as well as the more conservative folks. There is some ethnic diversity in Boise proper, like what you would see in San Jose or LA, though when you get away from there, it does go more monotone.

Anyway, Someone started a MFP Group for folks in Idaho!
