edited September 29 in Introduce Yourself
l just wanted to introduce myself, as I'm hoping being active on here will keep me motivated!
I've always been heavy, but never really had the motivation to lose weight. I'd start a diet and it would last for 2 weeks or so and then I'd tell myself "You're confident, why worry about your appearance". To me losing weight was only about appearance, not health. This past week at a health screening provided by my employer, I found out I have moderately high cholesterol and I'm pre-diabetic. Both of these run in my family. My father was diagnosed wtih diabetes about a year ago, but lost 50 lbs and is no longer diabetic. As scary as this is, I feel like I finally have the motivation I needed to lose weight, and that I'll actually be able to do it this time.

welcome and good luck :) not that you'll need it i'm sure, i'm glad that you're feeling motivated :)
  • This is a great place to track what you eat, drink, exercise and to meet people going through the same things as you. I just popped over to your profile... NOW is the time to make those changes. Thank goodness your dad got his health turned around. Even more, thank goodness you had that "health screening" - you are too young to let your health rule you.. Take control - lots of good info here and on the web regarding nutrition.. Find what works for you... committ to it... and... "Just Do It"... Welcome
