If you're like me, you love Tuna Salad but want to find a healthier way to make it. I found this recipe and messed around with it and I think I've got it down so I wanted to share:

2 cans Tuna (I like albacore)
2 avocados (Hass) or 1 SlimCado
2 Tbsp mustard (I use Dijon/spicy) or 1 Tbsp mustard powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp sea salt
2 stalks celery (diced)
1/2 lg onion or 1 small onion (diced)
1 lime

Smash avocado into a paste, softer avocados are easier. Smash in the tuna fish and the mix in all the other ingredients. Add/subtract spices/mustard to your preferred taste.
Squeeze 1/2 lime on top of mixture (lime juice prevents browning)
and cover closely with plastic wrap (no air)
Refrigerate for an hour then serve.
Can be eaten in sandwiches, used as a dip, or put in a casserole. Very healthy and tasty!

Sounds good! Is it in the food data base? If not, how many servings and calories per serving. Thanks

This sounds yummy! I just stumbled upon this recipe on a day when I was wondering what to do with an over-abundance of avocados. Couldn't pass up the sale of 2 bags for $3.00, but I'm running out of ideas! LOL

    Thanks for posting!

Use the recipe builder when you make food. You have no idea if a generic entry's one small onion is 30g, and maybe yours is 40g and so on.

I do believe it's in the database already. A Slimcado is a giant green avocado that is native to Southern Florida. It has fewer calories than a hass avocado with a lighter avocado flavor. They make great guacamole

Sounds good! Does it get brown if it sits in the fridge closed up? That's the part that always grosses me out ...
