Hey there. I'm new to MFP and looking for friends who are using Soylent/Coffiest or Soylent-like products (like Biolent, Joylent, etc) for weight loss...
I started a few weeks ago replacing breakfast with Coffiest... and then naturally progressed into replacing lunch most days as well. I really like Coffiest, but not a fan of the powdered Soylent 1.6 (since they actually started using soy). Just ordered Biolent powder and am expecting it soon....
In any case, if you know what I'm talking about, friend me? I would love some support from people who are doing the same thing.... especially if you have a lot of weight to lose.
Thanks.

Hi Alannah! I do eat Soylent and have since about February of this year. I started eating Soylent on version 1.5 (Powder.) I have tried 2.0 (Drink), Coffiest, and Food Bar. I am a fan of the latest 1.6 powder for price, taste, and texture. I attribute my weight loss (50+ Lbs) to a lifestyle change and counting calories. Soylent is a big help in this way, its nutritionally complete, easy to count calories, and I don't skip meals. I have been maintaining my weight at 130 - 135 lbs.
All Rosa Labs products now use Soy Protein Isolate as their main source of protein. Their ultimate goal is to switch to algae protein, although its currently cost (and taste) prohibitive.
Fair warning: Rosa Labs (creator of Soylent,) had some issues with the nutritional values of Coffiest that they are working out. Its not nutritionally complete, through testing they found out that Coffiest is not maintaining vitamin A and C levels. They are unsure as to why, although it is believed to be because of heat during production and acidity of Coffiest.

Hi there and thanks so much for replying.
I am unhappy about the change to soy and will eventually look into other Soylent-like products. I've actually ordered some powder from Biolent (because they are Canadian, so I won't have issues with shipping duties) and look forward to trying it. My husband has been using Soylent for about a year and a half -- not for weightloss, however... just for convenience. He actually doesn't really care for food. Oh, how I wish I had that problem!
Right now I'm mainly using Coffiest because 1) I love the taste (not so much with other Soylent products, especially the 1.6 powder) and 2) it's convenient. Convenience is a huge bonus for me at the moment as I'm dealing with health issues and the stress associated with those issues.
I was aware about the vitamin deficiency in Coffiest, and am hoping they come up with a solution. I am currently under the care of a physician who regularly checks my blood levels, and will definitely supplement Vitamin A&C. Haven't yet, but it's on my list for the next trip to the drugstore.
Thanks so much!

I've been using Soylent for 70% of my meals combined with exercise and am down 24lbs in 90 days. I've been using Soylent for a little over a year and the soy has had no negative impact. In fact, I prefer soy protein since whey turns me into a gastroenterological geyser.
I travel 5 days a week for work, so the powder travels extremely well through airport security (TSA often just looks at the bags and nods and smiles. I've even had a few of the agents give me the thumbs up saying they love and use Soylent as well)
The bars are delicious and are perfect for when I'm running busy throughout the day (medical sales) so I can just have a quick 250kcal lunch with no fuss.
The 2.0 drink and Coffiest (LOVE the taste) I keep at home for weeks when I'm working from home. If I don't cook an eggs and bacon breakfast, I'll drink half of a bottle and then the rest a half hour later to spread out the 400 calories in 2.0
That said, I keep myself to a strict 1,000-1,200 calories a day and I eat roughly half the normal daily serving of Soylent so I supplement with multivitamins and other supplements. Because of Soylent helping me count my calories and reset my palate to not crave sweets, I've gone off of insulin and reduced my A1c 20%. I have a goal of being down to 250lbs by my 40th in March of next year.
So yes, Soylent is amazing. I recommend it to everyone. I do wish they'd lower the carb count a bit, but 1.6 did lower the carbs significantly compared to 1.5. I tell people that the taste of 1.6 is way more neutral than 1.5 and the 2.0 tastes like the milk from a bowl of Corn Flakes

Oh and, I've saved a boatload of cash by going with Soylent. At $2-$3 a meal, I've reduced my spending by a little over 300% each month.0

I just started today, actually. Joylent and Schmilk. Switching back and forth until I figure out what flavors I like the most, though I'll probably be sticking with Joylent considering it's cheaper when you factor in the cost of the whole milk for Schmilk. Feel free anyone to shoot me a friend request, I would love to have some more friends on MFP.0

I'm on 2.0 for currently about 75% of my daily caloric intake. In five weeks I've lost 20 pounds and my hugh blood pressure has stabilized. My long term goal is to lose about 70 more pounds. I'm using a variety of flavorings and I love not having to think about what Im going to eat.0
