It's been a crazy busy summer so far ... kind of been neglecting the cause here ... I'm going to try and get back on track as of today. So far so good ... although it's not even noon yet ... baby steps baby steps. How's everyone's summer going??

rubbish, pants and words to that effect! after a bit of an absence i started back up last week and was doing really well until friday, when i had to go back home for the weekend as i had been asked to be god parent to my friends little boy and it was his christening on sunday, so this meant staying with my parents who really don't care about food, and despite them knowing about me wanting to loose weight and my dad constantly commenting on the fact that i was putting weight on, pizza from the take away was what they had decided on for dinner and it was a downhill spiral from there, i accompanied the pizza with onion rings and a bottle of red wine (yes i said bottle, and yes i did feel rough the next day), on saturday i went shopping with mum and it was half 2 before we realised we'd not eaten and mum bless her suggested the chinese buffet that had opened up near by that she hadn't tried yet so of course we went and tried it! didn't eat anything that night or repeat the red wine lol. sunday came and it was crumpets for breakfast then i got myself ready and headed off to whitby (a lovely seaside town on the north east coast of england) for the ceremony. i got there early as my other half had asked me to get him a stick of rock and the tourists can be a right pain to plough through when you are in a hurry, and then i realised that it was only a buffet after the christening and i had a minimum of a three hour drive home and i didn't think a couple of curled up sandwiches would last me till i got home and that was depending on me getting home at a reasonable hour that would allow me to eat before bed. so i grabbed a small bag of chips (fries) to get a bit more food in me for the day (there isn't much else in the way of food available to grab in whitby unless you consider ice cream and candy floss food). the ceremony was lovely the baby didn't cry and the buffet weas huge!!! i forgot that the baby's father was american and had access to american foods on the airforce base he was stationed at! i tried my best at limiting my food intake but at the same time thinking that what i had may have to last me until monday morning. and then the self control went out the window when the desert section was opened and somebody had made rocky road cheesecake, and i must say that it was not a small slice and i ate it all i enjoyed every single mouthfull of it and i felt extrememly sick afterwards. needless to say i didn't track this weekend, and i'm struggling to get back ontrack now i also gained a pound although i do think a lot of that is water weight as the morning i went away i had lost half a pound.

hopefully my new heart rate monitor will arrive this week and motivate me again. i really wish i hadn't decided to start again last week knowing full well what i was in for at the weekend its totally demotivated me

Wow what a start to July. Went away camping to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary. We had a total of 130 guest, great food, beautiful campfire and lots of dancing. We even renewed our vows, it was all a very emotional time, Had a bit to much food, a few drinks, but overall I didn't do that bad as of today I only have 1 pound to lose to be back to last Friday. Just wanted to share my great joy... !!! I am a very happy person, now have to get back to losing at least 1 pound per two weekw instead of 1 pound per three weeks... Happy July everyone!!!

Happy 25th Lucie! Lots of special celebrations around here.....all good! i am going on vacation in 2 weeks and thought (of course) that I would have lost so much weight by then. It didn't happen, and I'm upset about it and kind of feel I don't deserve a vacation. That actually has to do with my work situation, as well. Long story. Anyway, I will take any tips and ideas as to how to handle vacation eating. I really must bump up my workouts, because I am staying within calories, and eating healthy stuff, but not losing the way I should be. Needless to say, I am a bit discouraged. I am also trying to work out more than once a day to break it up a little. Think that works??

Thanks,... you deserve a vacation... and just make sure that when you are on vacation, you drink your water, ask for dressing on the side...and if you eat out there are lots of restaurants who have their menu on the net with nutrient value...so you can make a wise decision.. MOST OF ALL enjoy...

Man oh man ... I just can't seem to get on track ... I think the biggest problem for me is that beer suddenly tastes so good on my porch every evening ... that used to be my walking time. Don't know why I'm having trouble getting it back together ... but I won't give up yet!! Happy Thursday to you :flowerforyou:

Whoever said planning food and meals is so right! When I do that I seem to really stick with the plan. I am going to an outdoor concert/fireworks tonight and everyone is bringing dinner. So I planned what I would bring, and wrote it all down, and it really will work! I won't have to feel so left out while the rest are munching on things and I am sitting with a salad. This is like a part time job! haha, but I am really trying hard. I certainly value all the help I get here!

I just thought I'd hop on this morning and start reporting again. I finally got off of my front porch last night (it was my couch before that) and went for a great hike in the Niagara Gorge. I love it down there and there's no way you can't get a great workout because you have to climb your way back up to the top or get air lifted out. I’m going to do this every day until I can reach the top without feeling like death. The disappointing thing about being inactive and eating improperly isn't so much the weight gain for me (although that definitely did happen) ... it's the struggle when you do something a little bit strenuous ... I hate the panting for breath and the feeling that my heart may just pound out of my chest and that crimson red colour I turn all after doing some kind of hill or stairway ... it sucks because I had worked so hard before that it just came easily ... I want that back!!!! Yesterday is the first day in a long long time that I'm proud of my eating and exercising ... I think I'll try to get back into that habit again.

Well today I took my bike out for the first time in 2 years.. wow.. it started ok.. but when I got back home after 20 minutes my legs were shaky..... oh did I mention it is very hot and humid.. I am sweating like crazy ... but I intend on doing the same route everyday for the next week until my legs don't shake when I return home... .. Well wishing you a great Sunday...

Ohhhhh I would love to get back on a bike! Maybe I will give it a try soon. I used to bike all over the place. How is everyone doing this weekend? It has been beautiful here and I spent a lot of time outside. Just love it!

How wonderful....size 4! Congrats! How is everyone doing around here?? Soooo quiet. Been doing ok with all my free time, trying to exercise more and stay positive. Last week I exercised more, ate the right amount of calories, and lost NOTHING. I was so bummed when I got on the scale and got really down. I brushed myself off, and got back to it and am trying to remain positive, however I am really hesitant to get on the scale again. I will have to suck it up and do it on Saturday which is my weigh in day. UGH

Note to self ... I have got to get back on track ... I'm feeling crappy ... there's no other reason other then the bad eating ... alcohol drinking ... and lack of regular exercise. Enough is enough already!!!

Also trying to get back to a respectable routine here. I was on vacation for only 5 days but it did me in. Didn't really eat a lot of junk foods, although I ate more calories than I should have. Stayed away from alcohol which was hard to do, but had too much bread and carbs. So today I am working hard. I feel very guilty about falling off the wagon, when the little bit of weight I lost was so hard to do!! Hope everyone is doing well and starting the week off with positive energy!

Good Morning all. I was doing pretty good getting out there and moving it ... then yesterday I went water tubing ... got thrown off and rode the rapids without a tube. Hit a couple of boulders with my lower back ... OUCH!!! If you ever decide to try this I highly recommend you stay on the tube. Had x-rays this morning and am on some nice little pills for a while. Hopefully I'll snap back quick enough to get my move on again. Anyway ... just thought I'd pop on and say hi and wish you all a wonderful day.
