Does it matter that I haven't lost any weight?

I've been MFP ing and exercising for about 100 days now. I'm really really happy with how it has gone. I eat more healthy and have a much better understanding of what i eat - allowing me to really enjoy my treats! My fitness has improved to the point where I actually enjoy running and look forward to it!! And (not to be girly but probably most importantly!) I look better. I have dropped a dress size and lots of people have commented upon how much slimmer I look.

So my question is..

Does it matter that I've not lost any weight when I get on the scales? Initially I lost a few kilos but nothing for month now. Is that normal? The only reason it bothers me is my BMI is still overweight...

My mother in law has only lost 10 lbs and she has lost like 4 dress sizes, so no that isn't something to worry about... you could be gaining everything you are losing in muscle which is even better :)

If you're happy with how you look and your fitness level, then no, it doesn't matter. (caveat - as long as there are no underlying weight related medical issues).

you could just be building muscle, which makes you heavier, but look better. just keep at it, being healthy and fit is important, if your body needs to lose more weight it will eventually happen. You can also try mixing up your work outs, doing different exercize and trying new sports etc.

BMI is not an accurate report of health, only because it cannot measure body fat percent. Someone could be 10% body fat but still be overweight or even obese because of muscle mass. Do you know your percentage of body fat? Feeling better and looking better are what's important here. :)

No, it doesnt matter. The scales dont allow for everything going on in the body. I have lost 17 inches since February and have had many plateaus. It has started coming off again this week. As long as you feel good; dont worry about the scales - they are an evil contraption

I guess the real question is, does it matter to you? You sound pleased with your progress and from your "ticker" it looks like you're only wanting to lose about another 5kg...as you get closer to goal, it gets harder to lose those last few kg or lbs ;) If you are feeling fitter and healthier, losing inches (dress sizes) and feeling good about your progress, I wouldn't be too concerned. It sounds like you're doing really well :)
BMI is not always the best measure of a healthy weight because a person who is really muscular and fit can "appear" to be overweight according to those numbers.

You are near the end of your weight loss maybe it is time to reduce your calory deficit. Losing a lot is easier (in term of lbs per week ) than having a little to lose.

How would I work out my percentage of body fat?
