Need motivation!!!

Hey guys I'm back on MFP. I've used this app before in the past and I'm ready to give it another try. I've struggled with my weight since around 2008 (I was 11) and around my sophomore year of high school went from 250 to around 185 by doing Insanity. I didn't even diet that hard, just ate my greens and cut out soda junk etc. Since then I started playing football and was good with my fitness until I went to college last year and I gained weight REEEAAAAL quick, then lost some, then gained it back, and so on. I ended up at 235 at the beginning of this past summer, and got a job at a factory shipping area where I swear my butt off and got down to 210. I already look and feel better from it, but I'm back at college again and DO NOT want to gain it back, in fact I would like to lose it all! My pipedream goal is to be satisfied by December (going to Florida) but my "this absolutely needs to happen" goal is for this upcoming July (going to Bahamas). Another reason is cause I want to start dating again and I haven't had a girlfriend since high school, and I guess I'm just not boyfriend material at the moment lol. So I'm posting here to literally BEG for motivation and advice on confidence, exercise, dieting, time management, not going completely out of mind, or anything you guts think could help! I look forward to rejoining the community. Thank you!!

Welcome back!
Motivation is hard. I was a serial starter too -- I would join MFP, start logging and losing some weight, and then something would happen in my life (new job, new boyfriend, new place, bad eating days that I just didn't want to track, etc). I also completely understand the struggle of college - the stress alone can be a huge set back (many late nights snacking with friends just trying to get projects done, studying for finals, eating terribly).
Do you cook for yourself, or do you rely on dining halls? If it's the latter; see if they have healthy options (besides just salad all day, every day). My college offered healthy, nutrient-dense options for those that did not want to have burgers, fries, and pizza all day, and the portions were perfect.
Plan your workouts in your college gym like you would a class, or better yet, take a fitness class. That will help you stay motivated if you treat it like it's an actual class where participation matters.
Look at what motivates you: getting back out there and dating again, Florida, Bahamas, and use that to help you get to your goals. Don't stress it if you have one bad day, or binge with your friends, etc. Just remember it's one day at a time. Set realistic expectations.0 -
Good news is you are young and it is easier to loose than when you are older. Start logging your food and alcohol. Don't guess at it. Set your base level of activity which is probably pretty high. Log your exercise here, but only count about 2/3 of the calories it says you burn. Then see where you are every day with how many calories you are allowed vs how many you burn. Keep doing it for a while. Cut out the foods that don't work to satisfy hunger like processed sugar and snacks. Be aware of what you eat and drink & budget for it. After a while it will be second nature and you'll have some instincts on how to manage your weight. Remember it doesn't have to be all or nothing, but if weight is an issue for you, it should become a lifestyle.0
