Are obsessed with health and your family is tired of hearing about it?

YUP! And that's why I came here. Everyone's not going to share my passion so I try not to take it personally. Some don't want to hear it because of jealousy or they're just tired of hearing about it. I would feel the same if they constantly talk about their kids, or work, or spouse or their new house. So keep moving and tell them less. BUT be sure to be encouraged by people who do care and are on the same journey as you. I've added a ton of MFP friends and they don't get tired of me (I hope!! Lol)
  • Yes I can totally relate. My husband hates exercise and says I obsess over calories and trying to get fit. The most fitness hubby does is chair aerobics with the Xbox controller or tv remote!!! Literally he is seditary all day, even at work he sits at a desk and a computer screen. He's been the same since we got married 13 years ago and won't change. He is 300lbs!!! He cares but not enough to change him. When I make protein shakes and chick pea brownies I always feel it is waisted on him because he'll go and eat some junk right after!

I don't say much about it until my family invites me out for food that is really difficult to fit into my calorie allotment without starving. Also, when my mom lost a lot of weight a few years ago, she drove me insane by mentioning the amount of calories in EVERYTHING she ate, as if "@&!-calorie" was an adjective preceding each item. I don't want to be that obnoxious.

Hubby sees me weigh items. Once in awhile when he is talking while I am calculating and logging a multi-item meal, I have to ask him to politely be quiet while I focus. He is good about it even though he does not quite "get" it.

Yep, my wife doesn't understand why I eat the way I eat. She sees the results but when it's her turn to cook I have to disappoint her a lot of times. Her idea of healthy and mine differ greatly.

Wow, do you really criticize her cooking when it's her turn to cook? Maybe you should do all the cooking rather than "disappoint" your wife when she makes something you don't deem healthy enough.

Define "disappoint". If it were my husband either making comments about or turning his nose up at what I made for dinner he'd either be cooking all of our meals or making his own. When my husband, who is not trying to lose weight, is cooking and he makes something I have an issue with I simply take a smaller portion or skip that part of the meal.

I'm into fitness and nutrition...so is my wife...we're also into other things as well. We don't go on and on about things to our friends or family as that would be really annoying I'm sure...

No. I know there is no one who cares anything about my weight loss/health issues. That's why I discuss it here and don't try and bore my friends and love ones to death with it.

But did you when you first started? I mean, I'm looking forward to the time when this hopefully becomes second nature, just something we do, but right now it's something I think about a lot. I don't talk about it IRL much, because for me too much talking translates to not a lot of doing, but it's still taking up a lot of mental real estate.
