Drinking one night a week?

Hello Im 21 and enjoy having a few drinks once a week. It normally adds up to 1000 calories in alcohol. Sadly. Plus around a 1000 for food. The rest of the days i eat around 1300 and burn a few hundred calories working out. I want to know how everyone elses experiences are and if you think this will affect my weight loss that much. Basically a cheat day with just drinking I dont care about eating more food . Would love to know anyones opinions or advice on the situation. Thank you.

There's nothing wrong with what you're doing and it's actually a really good idea to tailor your weight loss around the things you love to do. You'll find it much more sustainable in the long run.

Your plan right now is to eat 1300 calories X 6 days and 2000 calories X 1 day which is 9800 calories per week. You then need to determine what your TDEE is, which is how many calories you are burning every day living and moving and exercising. Multiply your TDEE by 7 to get a weekly calorie amount. If you subtract 9800 calories from that TDEE number and then divide by 3500 (the amount of calories it takes to lose or gain a pound) you'll know how many pounds you can expect to lose each week. You'll then need to decide if you can live with losing at that rate. If not, you'll need to adjust your expected calories or your exercise accordingly.

I do exactly the same, I have about 1400 cals per day and about an extra 1200 on Fridays through wine/treats and I'm losing just under 1lb a week. Yes my weight loss could be more if I didn't do this but I feel like I can do the low cal days if I can have a day where I don't have to worry too much. I only exercise a couple of times a week.

It completely depends on how much of a weekly deficit you have whether or not you can do this and still lose.

My deficit is so little per day (since I have a low maintenance amount and am close to goal) that one day a week of drinking would wipe out my entire week.

Can you figure out how to lower that calorie count? Light beer, red wine, hard liquor and diet sodas? 1300 seems like a lot, but probably not a diet-breaker I guess if the rest of your days are low.

2000 extra cals per week will slow your weight loss by about 1/2 pound per week. Not to mention that you are on such low cals to begin with and the alcohol does nothing for your nutrition.
