One Year of Running - Comparison Pic

A year ago, when I was 48, I was walking round the lake and felt an irresistible urge to go faster. I ran 500 metres, and was absolutely knackered, but was totally hooked.
In the past year, I've run 41 parkruns, lots of middle distances, and three half marathons.
When I started running, I'd already lost 18 kg counting calories with MFP, and walking more and more. After I started running, I continued to count calories, and went on to lose another 20 kg, eating back 50-75% of my exercise calories. Since I reached my goal weight in April 2016, I've maintained my goal weight by logging accurately and eating back 100% of my Fitbit Charge HR exercise calories earned.
I celebrated my runniversary on Thursday by running with my friend Narelle. We ran 1 km for each of these 12 months. It made me very happy!

Hell, yeah! I get to eat lots.
And the thing is, I love the exercise! I don't do it to punish myself for eating a lot. It's the other way round. I get to reward myself with nice food for being so active.
I also rewarded myself for my anniversary just now by ordering an iPhone 7. Love my 6, but ooh, shiny!

Mega! Well done.
I definitely want to do a marathon. Just not sure how soon.
Yep, running is amazing! Love, love, love it!
Two days after I ran my first 500 metres, I started Couch to 5K (C25K). Never looked back.2 -

What does your current weekly training look like?
Like you, I've discovered running and feel hooked. I have three young kids and work full time, so it's a bit tricky to figure out some days. But I am inspired!0 -

I get up at 5 am and do my runs before work, and go to bed at 7:30 pm. Just love starting the day with a run!
Building up my distance, I started with Couch to 5K, three runs a week. Then after I completed that, I built up distance gradually. After I could do 10-15 km I gradually increased to running 4 days a week. And in the past month or so I've 5 times a week a few times. Depends on the distance
Now, I usually do a few 10 km runs during the week and one longer run on Sunday.
Yay you, for getting hooked on running!
