I agree it does make it taste better. You know sometimes you really need to beat the meat first to make it tender and really get the juices to flowing.1

Slow smoked, marinate at times...you can even make sure you have juices in the smoker...Apple juice with orange slices.....the longer it cooks the more tender the meat0

I love letting the meat cook a long time but sometimes I hate waiting till it's done to taste it. So I might sneak a small taste during the cooking sometimes. It's amazing the flavor when all the seasoning mixes together.2
