Hi :D
Will eating about 1200 calories a day and burning 1500 cause me to have excess skin? I don't want it, but i've heard if you lose more than a pound a week your body doesn't have time to adjust the skin, so in the end you'll have excess skin. I have about 39 pounds to go, and have lost 17  the 17 i have lost i've lost very slowly. I just need advice about this. Thanks! :flowerforyou:

    Hi :D

I presume you mean you will be eating 1200 a day PLUS the 1500 burnt from exercise, otherwise you're expecting your body to survive on -300 cals a day!!!!

Please please aim for a minimum of 1200 a day net calories AFTER exercise!
  • It's hard to say, because everyone's body is different.

As for me, I have LOTS of extra skin on my arms (bat wings) and thighs.

I hate them - but I'd rather have them than all the weight I've been carrying around.

Do you mean eating 1200 and burning 1500 so you're netting at -300?
Then YES, your skin will probably sag and eating that little and exercising so much is dangerous, because you aren't even eating to give

If you mean netting at 1200 then it could be ok, it is the accepted minimum around here but I'm no expert. Just make sure you eat enough and stay healthy! :)

It depends on if that is 1200 net or -300 net. the latter could give you loose skin or it could cause you to not loose anything at all as your body needs the fuel to be able to work fully

I think you should be fine. Listen to your body though.. Don't try to beat it into submission.

I've lost 21 pounds in a month and half and do not have saggy skin.

Unfortunately whether you will get saggy skin or not is mainly genetic... some people do and some lucky people dont!

Doesn't it also relate to how quickly you put the weight on in the first place? ie if the skin you have stretched quickly and didn't grow much, it just stretched to cover the extra weight, then it's more likely to sag for longer?
