Has anyone used Truvia sugar substitute, and if so what did you think?

  • I haven't tried truvia but I have tried stevia (what truvia is extracted from). Stevia is pretty good, its natural and is judged to be much safer than splenda, aspartame or saccharin by many experts. Here is an article I found about stevia:

    Thanks for the article! But i think I may be missing something here, it didn't seem to claim that is was safe at all, here's an excerpt...

    "In its letter, the FDA pointed out that there was insufficient data to conclude that stevia is safe. Even more alarming, they said that literature reports have raised concerns about stevia's effects on blood sugar, as well as possible adverse impacts it might have on reproductive, cardiovascular, and renal systems."

    Which is a bummer since I'm always looking for healthier sugar substitutes. But thanks for helping us stay informed :flowerforyou:
