No clue, but I know hitting the weight room did that for me. Check out stronglifts.com.

Thanks! I'm new to all this gym stuff & not sure I'd know where to start with weights!

Yea, SL 5x5 can be a good intro to weight lifting. Just remember proper form is crucial. If you're brand new to weight lifting, see if you can find some guidance from a friend. If you don't know anyone, try to find a local private trainer (Gym Trainers are very expensive) just for a couple sessions to get your form down.

What gym to you go to BTW?

Have a look at Pilates, yoga, core strength, and circuit training.

These will start you off nicely and, if you have never been in the gym, or haven't been for a long long time, will add strength, flexibility, mobility and balance.
All needed to lift with good form.

If you have the above already- lift heavy.

    Cheers, h.

I think it depends on the classes you take and the gym you belong to. I have a Classpass membership so I go to a few different gyms. What I find most effective are strength and conditioning and circuit style athletic based workouts. I think boxing is great too for upper body.

Stronglifts is not going to be a great idea if you are completely new and trying to do it alone - those lifts require proper technique. You need to get some face to face pointers on proper technique. Can you ask someone to take you through each lift?
