Hello everyone,
Just a post here because i'm a basically a new member. All in all i would love to lose sixty pounds but I set my goal for forty. I have had a lot of people tell me i don't look like how much i really weigh but the scale never lies. I'm just tired of seeing those high digits in between my feet! But the biggest change I want to make is how i eat and exercise. I want to be more active and healthy. I could use some support so if you have any advice for a newbie I would love to hear it.
Thanks for your time
Natasha.

Add some friends to keep you encouraged and to hold you accountable. I have found that this helps keep me motivated.

Pick some fun exercises to try out and see what you like. the trick to keeping it off is finding something you will want to continue doing when you are smaller. AS for diet follow what MFP has for now when you stop seeing change you might need to adjust things. Welcome and enjoy this journey. :)

Hello! Feel free to add me as a friend :) I know exactly what you mean about people telling you that you look different from how much you weigh... I often get " No... you look like you weigh 130" Meanwhile I am thinking..... I WISH!! I am 152.8 lbs and looking to lose about 20- 25 more pounds. I wish you the best of luck on your new MFP journey!

    Hey there!

Best tips that I received from my trainer:
Strength training before cardio. Weights burn off your carbs and sugar. Cardio for the good calorie burn.
Works out each muscle group 100 reps through out your workout. i.e. 3 set of 12/4 sets of 8 for 3 different exercises
Carbs are good. That's your fuel. Just get it from good sources.
You can have a cheat meal! Just not a cheat day. Have a good b-fast & lunch, and then splurge on your dinner. (Just keep it at your calorie goal.)
It takes time and patience. It's a marathon, not a race. This didn't happen overnight or in a month. It takes the body 6 weeks to start to adapt to change. Find what works for you and stick with it.

    Do work!

Your post is my exact situation! I am 5'0" (5'1" on a good day-lol) and need to lose 60 lbs.
I have been told I don't look as much as I weight but the scale tells me the truth.
I would also love any advise and tips for this journey. Good luck everyone!!:flowerforyou:
