If it worked so well why do you need to do it again ?
For the teeth thing any soup will do, there's no magic in cabbage soup, and most soups can be made low calorie and filling

Soup is great for keeping calories down. You can make a lot of great soups that are low cal. You don't have to stick to just the one recipe.
I make soup pretty frequently because it is just easy and makes enough to have more than one meal.3 -
No to derail this thread, but does anyone have any good recipes for cabbage soup?1

Borscht is the ultimate cabbage soup.1 -
I like the idea of adding soup to my life, especially now that the days are finally getting cooler where I live, but I agree with others that there's no need to restrict so much. There are so many delicious varieties of soup there's no need to go bonkers eating it. I had a really delicious autumn squash soup at Panera the other day that I'm going to try to replicate at home.
Smoothies are a great way to get a lot of nutrients with relatively low calories. I use unsweetened almond milk and frozen fruit with some protein powder and/or greek yogurt and that always helps me make it to dinner without blowing all my calories.1 -
Maybe we can start a soup recipe thread or maybe one already exists?1

Hungarian bean soup is so very hearty and filling.

Here's hoping you have a full set of teeth again soon.1 -

You lose weight because it is a low calorie diet. There are a lot of low calorie soups and foods.
If you need to follow a mechanical soft diet because of your teeth-

One of my favorites: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/98129/hot-and-sour-cabbage-soup/
That makes a LOT for just one person - I half it. I made it when the weather got cool, then it warmed up and I didn't want it, so I froze some. Although most soups do freeze well, not sure how well the bean sprouts will hold up.
Posole is great as well. This is the only recipe I saw that I'd bookmarked: https://food52.com/recipes/13566-green-chile-chicken-posole-soup
I throw some chorizo in there as well.1 -

My brother did the soft foods thing for months due to dental surgery. The soups did have meat - everything was pureed in the blender.0 -
People at my work do the "Magic Soup", you can google it. It is just a low calorie vegetable soup, but they say it tastes good. I do my own version of Taco soup, which is about 120 cap per serving. But I love soup when I'm watching what I eat, it's filling and you get lots of veggies.0

Hahahaa... cabbage soup threads give me a big smile. I eat cabbage soup almost every day (on maintenance)! Never heard of the "cabbage soup diet" until MFP. Who knew?
1) If you have a good Andouille or other sausage left over from dinner, it makes a beautifully seasoned soup for lunch the next day without adding much of anything but stock, garlic and cabbage. (Admittedly, it helps to have a delicious homemade stock vs. wan canned).
2) Try lentils with your cabbage for fiber & protein. Season with turmeric, cumin & a pinch cinnamon. I like it like as simple as that, but you can dress it up. If you like tomato and have it fresh, diced tomato and chicpeas are a nice addition. So is lemon chicken if you have any leftover from dinner. The lemon zest from the chicken melds especially well with the chicpea and tomato.
3) Gently sauté sliced mushrooms until soft. Add diced jalepeno, ginger root, garlic and lime zest for a couple more minutes. Add stock, rice and cabbage and simmer 20 minutes. Season with lime juice and soy sauce (vs. salt).
The variety is endless. Good luck with your teeth. I really feel for you.0 -
Thanks guys. I just printed them out. I'm a cabbage soup junky so I was looking for some good recipes.0

? Cabbage soup doesn't upset my stomach. But then, I don't have more than one serving per day, so not consuming it as per the silly Cabbage Soup Diet.0 -

Hahahaa.... I make LOTS of other soups, too. I really like cabbage among them! But yeah, not more than once/day.0 -
Do you like Mushrooms? This is one of my favourite soups
Hungarian Mushroom Soup
A Hungarian style mushroom soup seasoned with paprika, dill and sour cream.
Servings: makes 4 servings
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 45 minutes
Ingredients
· 2 tablespoons butter
· 1 onion, diced
· 1 pound mushrooms, sliced
· 1/4 cup flour (or rice flour for gluten-free)
· 1 tablespoon paprika
· 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
· 2 teaspoons dried dill
· 1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional)
· salt and pepper to taste
· 1/2 cup sour cream
· 1 splash lemon juice
· 1 handful fresh dill, chopped (optional)
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a large sauce pan over medium heat, add the onions and mushrooms and cook until the mushrooms have released their liquids and it has evaporated, about 10-15 minutes.
2. Mix in the flour and paprika and let it cook for 2-3 minutes.
3. Add the broth, dill, soy sauce, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes
4. Season with salt, pepper mix in the sour cream, lemon juice and dill and remove from heat.1 -
A few months ago, I posted a really good cabbage "stew" I make semi frequently. Should be able to find it if you search recipes! I don't know how to link the recipes on my phone from this app, but if you can't find it, shoot me a message and I'll send to you!
It's got cabbage, peppers, celery, onions, chicken broth, tomato purée, and garlic and spices! Oh and ground beef for protein!
I definitely could not do any sort of cabbage detox, but I like making cabbage stew because I can have a big bowl of it for a low amount of calories!
