I put it all back on. (Vent/Rant)

185. This sucks. I took so much off this past week and a half since starting back on MFP. I put it all back on this week. I am so frustrated and discouraged. I knew I was going off the rails a few days here and there, so I need to have more accountability. I need to stop eating like a moron. I need to exercise more. I skipped my second dance class this week, but I did go dancing at the club Thursday, and I did my weekly dance class on Friday. I'm so disappointed. I put it ALL back on. One week. I want to give up. I can't give up. I won't give up. I'll get stricter on food. I'll exercise more (going to call ABS Monday and get into the second class). I can't be big like this forever. I'm determined to get my goal by Christmas.
Thanks for listening, folks. Any feedback is welcome.

What's your weight loss rate set to? I found that 2 pounds per week was giving me not nearly enough calories. Changing that to one pound per week was slower, but I actually lost weight and kept it off!4

It takes time, and consistency, and we're all human and screw up now and again. Try to do the best you can with your calorie intake, but don't beat yourself up if you slip up... just make sure not to let it become an excuse to give up for the rest of the week/month/whatever, and get back on track as soon as you can.
So many factors can affect our weight. I weigh myself every day and I've become used to the daily fluctuations that I see, which can be anything from 0.5lbs to 2lbs in either direction. If you've only weighed yourself once since last week then it's possible there was a bit of a loss that you didn't see before it bounced up again. Water weight from sodium intake or exercise could be masking it, or it may be a time of the month thing - we women are susceptible to that, and some far more than others! (I've seen some women here say they can gain up to 10lbs in a week.)
It's hard when you don't see the results you want, I know. But stick with it, make sure you're doing everything you can to calculate your intake accurately, and have patience. It'll take time, but if you keep at it you'll get there. Depending on what exactly your goal is, maybe not before Christmas - but you will get there.
Good luck!

How is it possible to tell the calorie content of something just from a picture? Especially if it's a smoothie or similar? Sounds odd to me... and kind of pointless, since you can figure out your calories for free right here.0

My weight graph looks like a heart monitor. I have also stopped and started several times. But each time I refocus I know a little more and do a little better. Give it time and keep at it (and make sure you are eating enough not to lose your mind).5

Thanks @SueSueDio for posting that link. I hope the OP reads it, too.
So good to remember that it can be such a number of issues leading to weight loss and it's like stair steps, not a line. Basically I always have to "look backwards" to see the trend line in the ups and downs. I'm coming back to lose MORE weight after taking a "diet break" and I just have to remind myself that I'll lose a bunch of "water" weight right away and then it will slow down. Wayyyyy down.
I set my goal to one pound a week and I'm eating below my calorie count, so I may on average do better, but I'm not going to go crazy over any number on a scale - and I basically say no more than once a week! (at least for most folks.)0 -
I have heard that once a week is better for losing and daily or every other day is better for maintaining (makes spotting a trend in increasing weight easier).1

umm, I am a little confused. You put on in one week what took you a year and a half to loose? I am not really sure how much weight that is? Not really sure how to advise you on this as are we talking about 5 lbs or 40 lbs or more. Each one has it's own set of issues.... not sure if you are looking for a that sucks get back to it or some some true advise. So if you are just looking for the "suck it up and get back to it girl, real life happens, so get back to your healthy lifestyle." Here ya go. If you want more then that I guess we would need some more info.1

Whatever she lost in a week and a half, she put back on the following week. But she didn't say how many pounds that was in total, just her current weight. (That's my understanding of her post, anyway! )0
