Protein content

So I'm looking at Red Lobster's nutritional chart. They don't list protein, and I'm trying to estimate it.
"Steamed Clams" has...
430 calories total
15g fat
10g carbs
That means 135 calories are from fat, and 40 from carbs. That gives me 255 calories unaccounted for. Are those 255 all from protein, or could there be something else?? 255 calories from pure protein would mean over 60 grams of protein, which seems like a lot for an appetizer.

I would guess all protein as 1 cup of clams has 5.8 Carbs, 2.2 fat, and 29 carbs which is 14.5% Carbs, 12.5% Fat, and 73% protein.
Using your calculation these clams have 9.3% Carbs, 31.4% Fat, and 59.3% protein. So I think you are correct in assuming there is 60gs of protein, they must add stuff to them or cook them in something that adds fat.0 -
I just did a search here. Steamed clams for 1 cup (138 calories) has 24 grams of protein. For 430 calories, that's about 3 times the calories, so I would expect 3 times the protein. So, I guess it's going to be one huge plate of clams.0

Protein
Clams are a good source of complete protein, meaning they provide all nine essential amino acids your body cannot make on its own. Protein in your diet is important to support the growth and repair of all your organs, tissues and cells. A 3 oz. serving of steamed clams provides 21.7g of protein. The Institute of Medicine recommends women consume 46g of protein daily and men consume 56g.
