Been on a low carb high fat eating plan. I'm not calling it a diet because I'm never hungry. So far so good. 5 kg in 3 weeks. Any thoughts?

1- Finding a diet (what you eat) that works for you is very important, because you have to stick to what you are doing (having a calorie deficit) for a long time. Well done.
2 - Any improvement of diet will make you feel better, more energetic, less hungry, lose weight if you are overweight. Losing weight in a healthy way shouldn't make anyone hungry, because the energy you aren't getting from food, is taken from the body's fat reserves, and you shouldn't even notice that. LCHF is just one of many approaches that can work. For some people, though, it's the only approach that works.
3 - You have lost a lot of water weight due to the drop in carb intake. Don't expect the same decrease in weight every week.1 -
I'm expecting ( and hoping) for .5kg loss each week. Enjoying my meat and fish, butter in my cooking and cream in my coffee. Had a blood test to determine my hdl, ldl, and triglyceride levels. Will wait another few weeks then have it done again.1

Yeah, expecting to lose that after the first week is seeing yourself up for disappointment. You should hoping the lchf group, there's so much information!! But yeah, I've been keto since June 1st, and the loss
slows after the first week. Cmon over and check us out!!
Edit: dangit lol, I read your comment as you're expecting 5 not .5!! Sorry! Still come check out our group!

Works for me, too. slowly but surely. I've been doing it for about 18 months. MOL 60pounds. Tests are great, as is my blood sugar, which registers as normal. Doctor likes it, I like it. Yeah for the nutritionist who set me up on it! Only drawback is smelly outputs, but I was expecting that.2

Well done on your weight loss - that's incredible!
I'm on LCHF after having gestational diabetes during my pregnancy I realised I need to change my diet NOW. It's going well so far - I've only lost 1kg in 4wks but totally happy with that.2 -
Great Job! I just finished my first week on a LCHF and have had great results so far, lost 5lbs this first week, probably mostly water.
I also started doing fasted HIT cardio in the mornings which seemed to have got me in and out of the "Keto Flu" faster.1 -
Thanks for the positive comments. .5 off this week. Really happy. I've gone from 75k to 69.7k in a month. No hunger. I'm listening to my body when I eat, and identifing when I feel satisfied. It takes some practice. As soon as I feel it I stop eating and put my plate down for the dog. I know that's discusting but I can't retrieve then and eat more. It's hard at first not eating everything on my plate. But I'm starting to notice how little I need.1

I lol-ed I have my own personal strategies to structure my eating, and I think this was clever.
When we listen to what our body needs and give it what it needs, it's satisfied on so little. I have had the same experience, and it's wonderful and feels a bit strange. I am amazed how little food I have to buy, and how little food I eat.1 -
I suggest you check out the main low carber daily forum here in MFP. It's where most of us Ketophiles tend to hang out:

I've been on a Ketogenic diet for the last 9 days I am 6ft 250lbs with nerve injury neuropathy after injury and 4 surgeries and now have RSD so working out is dismal at best. The LCHF seems to be a stable lifestyle for losing this sedentary weight of almost 70lbs I have gained. I will checkout the keto forum threads, but wanted to let others know that especially if have conditions that limit exercise and if you have a strong system such as heart, liver and kidneys the keto diet can be a godsend as long as you commit to it. The first losses will of course be water as your system flushes water and sodium, but keep with it even if it slows down it will be worth it in the end. My blood pressure and bpm have all lowered with the mbr lowering my last pressure check was 117/74 with 64 bpm with just a little treadmill and exercise bike training daily about 25 minutes. The lack of appetite will shed calories and the light to moderate exercise will improve the natural LCHF mbr lowering to help with weight loss and also strengthening your cardiovascualr system. I do know that LCHF is not for everyone, but if you are ready to try and all else has failed give it a go.1

Hi Grafixfrh. Congrats on your loss. The best part being a lowering of your blood pressure. I have also have started LCHF and am doing really well. I usually have a sed lifestyle but I get out and garden, mow lawns and generally try to stay on my feet. I dont work out as such as no gyms in our town, but I keep moving. I was 75 k and am now 68.5k in about 6 weeks. So very happy.0
