Hello all!
I got the MyFitnessPal app and never realised there was a whole community out there!
A bit about me:
At my highest weight I was 182 lbs when I went to Keele University in 2004. By 2007 I was down to about 110 lbs. Unknown to me, I had Crohn's Disease and was only officially diagnosed with it in November 2010. At this point, my periods stopped, I could hardly walk, I had no energy, I had lost a lot of blood and I was completely malnourished. After months in hospital, I was down to about 80 lbs. Bad times. Eventually, they decided that I needed major surgery and an ileostomy bag. Scary, yes. But once I recovered, I was finally able to absorb nutrients and gain weight and become healthy again... and my, did I gain weight!
I now want to tone up and slim down in a nice healthy way. I never want to get back to being underweight and horribly skinny, but I'd like to be slender and in shape, as well as healthy and fit!
My starting weight was just under 160 lbs (currently 154.6 lbs) and my end goal is 120 lbs, so I still have 34 lbs or so to lose.
My weightloss plan (created by MyFitnessPal) involves eating 1280 calories and doing 60 minutes of exercise for at least 4 days a week. Exercise involves walking to and from work, and doing my Zumba Fitness DVD four times a week.
I am so excited to be getting into shape after such a tough time of it all. I can't wait to slim down and be healthy again!
