Okay -- I'm trying my darndest to figure out how to zig zag calories. Can someone please help? I have visited freedieting.com, but I'd really like to be able to remember my targets rather than looking them up each day (if that makes sense). I do understand the days 1 & 2 calorie deficit, day 3 maintenance, etc. I still have a few questions though.
I am 5'3" and weigh 148 lbs. According to mfp, for 1.5 lb per week weight loss, my caloric intake should be 1200 calories. For maintenance of 125 lbs (my goal), I should eat 1700.
My questions ...
1-) My maintenance should be based on my goal weight rather than my current weight, correct?
2-) I didn't factor in any exercise into my settings, however I normally exercise 3-4 times weekly. I use a heart rate monitor so I feel like my exercise calculations are pretty accurate. With this system, would you eat back your exercise calories?
I'm thinking this would be cycle --
S- 1700
M- 1200
T- 1200
W- 1700
T- 1200
F- 1200
S- 1200
S- 1700
PLUS, any exercise calories each day. Am I on the right track?
Thanks in advance for your responses.

No, they are based on your current weight, adjust every 10 lbs.

Eat them! (especially eating 1200 calories a day!)
Your average with that would be 1585 a day which is fine. I cycle mine by eating higher on weekends and eating lower during the week.0 -
What I have heard is, if you're at 1500 calories daily it should work like this, 1200, 1500, 1800. So the two days that are over or under, equal out to 1500 over two days. But I'm scared to actually try it!0

this is a new idea to me. Is it supposed to speed up weight loss?? if I go over I always try to go under the next day. Obviously I try to stick to my limits, but if I have a blip & go over then I try to correct it the next day x0
