Scale placement

Hey guys,
so I live in a college dorm and I'm wondering where the best place to put my scale would be. I have carpeted floors. Is it okay to check my weight on carpet? Will that effect the number?
Thanks!

Do you have a piece of cardboard or something along those lines? Put the scale on that, maybe it won't affect it so much.1

You're going to get inconsistent or inaccurate results on carpet. Another option is to buy a piece of plywood or other board a little larger than your scale and put that down under the scale when you weigh yourself. That's what I would do.1

Thanks for the tips. I may look into getting something to put underneath it. The problem with taking it to the bathroom with me is that you're not really supposed to move the scale often. I guess it messes with the numbers as well0
