The Great Potato Chip Incident

Back in the day when my kids were very young, maybe 9 to 12, I had a penchant for BBQ Potato chips. I don't know why I just did. These days I don't think I've had any in several years.

We use to go to parks and playgrounds on weekends after I would pick them up from their mom's place. I had been devouring those things for a week as a quick lunch or between jobs, I worked two at the time. So I grab the kids and we're heading out to somewhere. Then I spotted it, a full BBQ potato chip between the seat and the consul. Looked completely untouched. I cry BONUS! Grab the tempting morsel and throw it in my mouth. My Gawd!! It was like chewing on old moldy plywood. Soft, no crunch, and yet a nylon type texture. Spitooooooouie, out the window. My kids laughed until they cried.

You know the rascals still bring that up some 20 years later.

That is hilarious! And a good way to keep yourself off the chips!
  • I've done that too, but I stuck by my decision and choked that bad boy down. It only took 10 minutes.

Gee, sounds like 'almost' the 5 second rule. I'd be more tempted with M&Ms. ; )
