I just met with a nutritionist and she recommended that I set mine at 45% carbs, 25% protein and 30% fats.0

This is a question for a doctor0

Every person is different. Ask your doctor for a referral to a registered dietician not a nutritionist.0

I follow the guidelines in Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution. A great nutritional guide for managing both types of diabetes. He recommends carbs are kept low to avoid large blood glucose swings. By low, he means well under 100g of carbs per day - he mostly recommends ketogenic levels of carbs (under 50g) which can be almost 0% up to around 20% or so based on your total caloric intake.0
