So I have a standing Monday night date, and I want to play outside, and he's all for it, but we're both broke college students. Help?! I just want fun, free, outside (if it counts as excercise that would be fantastic too!)

Find a volleyball game - there has to be one going on somewhere on campus. Play basketball - even if you don't play well, the running around will do you good!

Water Fight! Or check around your area a lot of places have family fun nights or movies you can watch at a park or public place for free. A few parks in different towns in my area do this. You can go to those as well they can not refuse you watching a movie because you don't have a child with you! Have fun!

bikes, picnic in a park, walk to a frozen yogurt or dinner place? My boyfriend and I volunteer at an animal shelter occasionally and get to just play outside with dogs for a couple hours, if you like dogs that could be fun :-)

    Hiking

    Ride a bike

+1 on the Scavenger Hunt that Scarletblue suggested. But I would suggest Geocaching which can actually be done with any of the activities above.

If you dont know waht Geochching is, it is basically a high-tech treasure hunt that you do with a GPS. I have been doing it for a few years now and it can get out out and about and you will find and discover places you never existed.

If you have a smartphone (iPhone/Android/Blackberry) you can download the official Geocaching application usually for free from your App Market.

You can find more information and how to do it from http://www.geocaching.com

    Good Luck!

    GeoCaching!!

It's a little treasure hunt, mostly junk in a hidden box; but fun to find. Most smart phones have a GPS built in, so you just enter the coordinates and head off and see what you can find.

Plus, if you find yourself out in the middle of no where - and the mood is right .....

Don't know how many calories you burn; but it's definitely fun :blushing:

Hubby and I were always broke when dating...so hiking, going for a picnic at a park or beach, taking a walk, go for a run.

We LOVE geo caching though, my kids love going on "treasure hunts"

He lives near a lake, why he didn't point this out earlier I have no idea, so I think lake it is, but I will definitely keep all these ideas in mind for another time! (especially when it starts cooling down, it's 105 out right now, yikes!)
