According to you what weights fall under this range.

Obese is 200+
Unhealthy is 150-200
Healthy is 120-150
Skinny is 85-110
Underweight is -80

It also matters on height, but this topic is on average :)

Height plays a major role in it IMO.

On average... it's totally dependent on height.

I am 191 lbs, and 5'10''. I would be considered "Overweight" by BMI, but as you can see from my photo, I'm not.
If I was 191 lbs and 4'6'', I would be considered GROSSLY Obese. See my point? Height matters. Completely.

that sounds about right for someone who is 5 5.5

I'm 5'7" and for ME PERSONALLY BEING THESE WOULD BE:

    obese: 185+
    overweight: 155-185
    acceptable/healthy: 155-130
    PERFECT: 130- 118
    Underweight: under 118

It TOTALLY depends on your height, gender and body frame. Your numbers are WAY off for both tall and short people.

You didn't offend me!! People sometimes need to see the truth!! I just think you can't put an 'average' on weight because height makes ALL the difference... my husband is 6'1 and you would never know he was 200 lbs. Now me 5'6'' at 200 lbs.. you would DEF. tell...
  • Thanks I apprecaite that

It's not just height that plays a role either, gender and body type also. And muscle mass!
Too many things can play a role in it to post something that can be SO triggering to some people.

    acceptable: any weight
healthy: any weight as long as your blood pressure/cholesterol/etc is okayed by a doctor and you don't have any other medical conditions making you unhealthy :)

I'm sorry, but this makes me laugh because it's so subjective. Do your research first, please.

Those numbers are too high for me. I am too short for that.

Not even subjective. It's just plain misinformed and incorrect.

Just get your facts straight. People come in all shapes and sizes. Don't believe that some average is universal for all people across all genders, builds, and heights.

Wow. Guess I was all wrong thinking that I'd entered my "healthy" range 20lbs ago! I still have 5 to go, according to you. Nevermind the fact that I'm 5'10", I must be between 120-150!

Did you realize you missed weights? what are you considered when you're 80-85 or 110-120?
This is wayyy too generalized...many things factor into what is considered healthy and what's not....and typically "skinny" isn't a heading. It usually goes, Obese, Overweight, Healthy, Underweight, Emaciated.

Height matters, so does gender, bone structure, build, muscle, that's all I'm gonna say.

    i so agree.
i'm 5'9, and my weight should range between 130-170.
on someone who is 5'3, 170 would be a bit high

    +1

I also wanted to say that those weights are way too low for me. I'll be good at 164 unless my bone structure/frame size/amount of muscle mass changes drastically and I am 5.5"
