Is there anybody that's been on Depo Provera, then had a struggle to get pregnant? How long did it take you to get pregnant after your last shot? did you have a struggle with miscarriges? I was on the shot for a little over 2 years, and my husband and I would like to start a family soon. I just want to know what kind of road is ahead for me. I've read many places online that it's a very bumpy road.

I wanna say that it took about a year. But I didn't go off of it to get prego, I got off of it cause it killed my sex drive and put a LOT of weight on me. But it was about a year after I went off of it that I turned up prego.

I was on for 4 years and then it took me 2 years to conceive after getting off. It actually took me 1 year to start my period again. Then my periods were 2 months long, NO FUN! Then I got on it after my second child and gained 35 pounds in 3 months, and I am still having issues getting it off!

My friend whom was on it took two or three years (and one miscarriage) before you finally had a beautiful baby. I have some lady problems (Endometriosis to the Max) and it's speculated that Depo is one of the reasons for my infertility (along side the disease). However, I've heard doctors be wrong in the past so I am now on Mirena, as it is SO much safer than Depo.

I wish they wouldnt have prescribed Depo like candy...It's horrible for your body in so many ways.

I agree, it is horrible. When I went on it, the only thing that mattered was that it's a birth control, only have to get it 3 months and I won't have my period anymore. I deeply wish that i would have taken the time to research it a little more, it really scares me that I could possibly never have kids because of it. I blame myself for it a lot but I blame my doctor for not telling me about the warnings either. I do not recommend this to anyone, expecially younger women whom are not quite ready for children but still want to be able to some day. Thank you for everyones input.

I had no idea not being able to have kids/delay in having them was a side effect! I have been on it for two years now and loved it until I read this. Now I am super worried :*( I would like to have kids someday and my boyfriend is the type who wants kids so badly there is no point in being with them if they can't have kids. Now I am super worried I can't have kids because of the depo shot!! (yes I am overreacting, I just had no idea!)
