Does anyone use a weighted vest for cardio? If so what are the benefits?

I have....it wears you out! I'm pretty sure you work harder, but only if you focus to maintain the pace that you would do without it0

Be very careful if you do. The last thing you want to do is stress your back or core because you can't maintain good form for whatever you're doing.0

I've hiked mtns with them. But not running. I'd ease into it.0

I mainly use a weighted vest for dips, GHRs, sissy squats, pushups, pullups and chinups. I also sometimes wear it hiking but not for cardio per se.
I can load the vest up to 75# but haven't used more than 25#; just wanted the capacity if needed. Works fine for my purposes.0 -
i really haven't found any benefit. Are you trying to burn more calories or build more endurance? just do your cardio for a few extra minutes or faster speed. Are you trying to get strong? Lift weights. What is it you want to do by wearing the weighted vest?0

It's expensive, but I have one and love it. It fits much better than a vest. I use it for Insanity and hiking sometimes:

Interesting. You're right, very expensive but a innovative twist on the concept.

The best part is the weight is very well distributed, so there isn't any weird shifting around when you move. I can't imagine using a weighted vest for cardio. That's just asking for an injury IMO.
