I mentioned above that I stop tracking and holding myself accountable when I make bad choices. My BIGGEST downfalls are Pizza and Sweets and portion size.

Tell me yours!

I have a problem with sweets and fast food. I just can't control myself and so I just don't keep them in the house and I work hard on the ability to drive past a fast food place.

I have a problem with chips & sweets. We have a love/hate relationship. Right now there is cake in the fridge that is screaming my name, I haven't give in yet.

Wine tasting parties - we do them often and I tend to over eat and drink.

I've been at maintenance for about 14 and a half years now.

    Depending on the time...I'd say:
    Pizza
    nachos
    wine
would be the three things that are challenging for me in terms of calories/diet compliance.
The first two because, well, pizza and nachos. The last, because, well, useless calories galore.

I am convinced that I am some kind of carb addict. Bread, cookies and cake are my kryptonite. I just can't seem to eat them in moderation.

Portions for sure. I used to eat until I felt sick. As bad as it made me feel, I still get that urge, especially when I'm tired or anxious or bored. Now wine and takeout are my biggest calorie overages even while watching portions.

Sweets. God I love sweets. And when I eat sweets it just makes me want to eat more sweets.

Like, I keep thinking that when I go to maintenance I just want to add a slice of cake or a bowl of pudding to my day.
  • There is a bowl of little chocolate bars that sit next to my desk... I love Halloween but this is going to drive me crazy!

Sugar and salt. More of a sweet tooth though. I have some delicious honey calling my name everyday in the cupboard. I don't think I've made it to my salt goal even one day so far. I don't even add the salt I add to food! I've been concentrating on my overall calories and I can't give up the salt just yet. The sugar keeps calling my name but I usually tell it to *kitten* off. Usually..

Portion sizes. I can never have just one ice cream, just a few chips, just a row of chocolate. I'm the type of person that eats the entire packet. It's my biggest issue.

Definitely pizza, so hard to resist ordering take out. Its my favorite food! Other thing that is a struggle is alcohol, those calories can quickly add up if you've had a couple drinks

I can stay healthy for a few days but fall off the wagon and fall hard. I like salty foods and fast food, as well as ice cream. Because my will power is crap i definitely indulge in much more than I should

Freshly baked bread - I stopped baking it as often because I cannot stop myself

Laziness. I get tired of planning dinners, trying to figure out healthy lunches that don't consist of the same thing day in and day out. If I don't have a plan, I order takeout or fast-food.

It used to be boredom, but I started buying unsalted sunflower seeds by the case and always have a bag next to me when I'm watching t.v. I can snack on those all night and barely get through a serving.

Oh and pizza - I can tear up some pizza!

Alcohol, specifically the high-calorie mixed kinds - margaritas, martinis, fireball... Food only becomes a problem when I feel like I have to eat a bunch of it because of the alcohol. Unfortunately, it just doesn't fit into my calories right now and I'm not into that substitute vodka soda business.

Going out to eat instead of eating at home. I eat much better when I cook than when I go out.

Boredom :( I'll just devour sweets in front of the TV.

Same problem cost me to gain 15 over my goal:/

You are not alone. I definitely have noticed if I eat low carb I'm able to stick within my calorie goals but as soon as I allow myself that one bowl of cereal or bread it just all goes down hill...

Why is pizza a downfall? I made a pizza last weekend and it fit quite nicely into my calorie plan of 1600 for the day. My worst habit before getting on this MFP journey was in eating a whole stick of crackers at one sitting. It wasn't my only bad habit, but it was the worst and the one I've had the hardest time breaking. I learned to make sure to get a big breakfast and have appropriate sized meals for lunch and dinner, and there's no brain signalling a screaming demand for carbs. That bad habit appears to be solved.

I hate that like if I make one bad good decision, it's like the qhole day is shot. And I'll stop tracking my calories for the rest of the day. How do people overcome this?

Absolutely no impulse control, especially in the evening. Eat something healthy, then eat something else, and later get into the real junk food.

    Sugar and portion sizes!
I've given up on added/processed sugars until the end of October to see whether I can get it under a bit of control. I'm still eating fruit though because it's good for you. There's a sugar fast challenge under challenges that I've started to help me be more accountable with this. I'm trying to cut down portion sizes too! Can't wait until this is all a part of my normal eating habits!
