I'm new . We'll sort of new. I tried using this a few months ago but I was under the impression that I could select the food eaten during the day from a list? All I find is a place where foods can be added. So I tried entering a peach and nothing happens. How do I track or chose foods I'm eating so it will calculate my calories? Thank you!

It doesn't look like anyone is answering my question! Do I have to enter all the foods I eat plus all the nutritional information? I thought this app would tell me the calories if I just entered the food such as one peach or 2 apples. It will take me too much time to have to build all that data myself on everything I eat? Hopefully someone can answer this question? Thank you0

After you click Add Food under a meal area, you'll get a search box at the top that will search the database.1

Hi People will answer but they have to be on their computers and on mfp to see the question ..
There is no list of foods that tell you what to eat but their is a huge data base with all the nutritional facts that will add to your food diary as you choose them . I have to go out but will post some pics when i get home or try go to food type in green apple it will bring up all the different choices choose one it will add it to whichever meal you have selected to start with

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I go to enter a food in the search area at the top of the page there is no option to search in any database with the foods already in there! Do I need to pay in order to see the lists of foods to choose from?0

Ok I found it and figured it out! Thank you!0

If you are using website
Go to food on blue bar
It brings up your diary
Go to the meal and choose add food
Type food in the box and click search
You will get a list of matching foods
Select one and it will populate the box to the right
Check against other databases and if correct (lots aren't) click add food to diary
Next time that food will be in your recent list and you'll know you've personally checked it so it's ok to just select

Sounds like you figured it out now but I wanted to add that if you click on the barcode icon while searching for a food you can use your camera's phone to scan the barcode on your food if it's something that has one like bread or a granola bar or olive oil or whatever, and the correct food will come up- it's a lot faster than the manual search but it only works for packaged foods with bar codes, not stuff like fruit & veg.0
