so usually i flunctuate between 56.5 and 57.5 when i weigh myself on my electric scales at home. i also weighed myself at the gym to see how accurate my scales were at home and they were around the same.

yesterday i weighed myself on the scales and it came to 57.5. i then was at the hospital today and had to be weighed so they used this chair that you sit in and records you weight. it came to 58.6.

it definately was disheartening. now i feel like my home scales and gym scales are wrong. but then how accurate are chair scales?

All scales vary. Also note that daily attire in some cases weighs more than sleep or workout clothes. Even if you were wearing the exact same thing, if you drink water or eat something you will be heavier. Your weight can vary by up to 2 kilos between morning and evening! Don't pay too much attention to the numbers unless you feel like you are gaining/losing too much weight for your liking and all scales you use generally reflect that as well as the way your clothes fit. What does it matter if the scale shows 56 or 58 as long as you are happy with the way you look and are within a healthy weight range?
