Hello,
I'm new to the site. I'm having difficulty figuring out my correct percentages for for Micros. I'm 5 11" and weigh 235lbs. I'm 48 years old and I'm looking to get down to 205.

Thanks!

Ken

Macros should be an area of focus (if needed) after you get the other aspects of dialing in your diet in check. Also macros are something tweaked for specific goals as a rule. Looks like your just saying you want to lose 30lbs with no real goal outside of that. If that's correct just eat at a caloric deficit the macros are irrelevant to a 30lb loss goal. Shoot for .5 to 1lb per week of caloric deficit (3600 calorie deficit = 1lb). Good luck on your goal.

If you are new, some things are very important, and other things are quite unimportant. It can be difficult to know what's what. But you should start by setting the right amount of calories, and aim to log your food intake accurately. This done correctly and consistently, will take your weight down.

For the most part, it's personal preference. Some people do well with the default macro percentage (50% carbs/30% fats/20% protein). Others find it better to eat low carb and high fat. As long as you're getting adequate protein (.8-1 gram per pound of lean mass) and fat (.3-.4 grams per pound of total weight), you should be good.
