Hey I personally have not done either of these work outs but know many BB fans that have. I would say that insanity is more fun and a better instructor from what I have heard and seen and read.

Never done p90x but I LOVE insanity. I had the same dilemma and decided on insanity because you don't have to buy any equipment, it is only you and your body weight. I am on my second round and I absolutely love it! The people in the workouts sometimes have to take breaks, even Shaun T has to stop sometimes therefore I know that they are human and they feel the same way that I do. For some reason watching them have to stop to catch their breath makes me work harder!

I've heard p90x is great too, I just really really love insanity.

It doesn't hurt that Shaun T is freaking ridiculously good looking, and SO ripped. :)

Hey there ladies :D. I'm on my 5th week of my P90X/Insanity hybrid. I totally recommend P90X if you want to get toned muscles and an overall stronger body, but Insanity is a lot better for weight loss as opposed to muscle gain. Insanity is a lot more rigorous and it's hard to finish sometimes (despite the shorter DVD lengths) but you just have to push through both. Both are hard programs on their own.

Insanity!! No equipment needed! Though P90X is great too....but Tony has a little bit of a foul mouth, and that annoys me to hear while working out. I like that Insanity is a 60 day program versus P90X is 90 days.
Watch out - once you get into the Beach Body programs, it's a multi-level marketing company - they're going to try and suck you into buying all their stuff and becoming one of their coaches! Not saying it's the worst thing in the world - it's better than selling junk food. :) Just thought I'd warn ya. Good luck!

thanks everyone i was leaning more towards insanity because i didnt need any equipment. im sure theyre both gonna be tough to get thru but im up for the challenge
  • I've done P90X and am currently on Insanity so let me help you out. With P90X you gain muscle and lose weight. The workouts are also a lot longer about 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour 36 minutes. Insanity the longest workout as far as I've done is about 40 minutes. Insanity is more for a cardio based person. P90X really is about gaining muscle and toning up. Yes it's longer and and takes more time but in the end muscle is harder to lose because muscle burns more fat. I recommend you get both! Or start with insanity. Shaun T. really pushes you to work hard and dig deeper. He's a great motivator too! Tony Horton is awesome! He's so funny and is cheesy. I honestly just miss doing P90X because I enjoyed his remarks. I'll be doing my 2nd round of P90X after my first round of insanity!
